has anyone had any input about the success rate (i.e. 5 seconds vs 3 seconds.)

If you don't want to miss and afraid of possible network lags, then use 5 or 7 seconds for your snipes.
Myibidder will try to resubmit your bid if any issues, and when it has this extra time.
